  1. I would feel as if I would have missed out on a lot of things I found out that I had been sleeping for fifty years. There are many disadvantages and advantages of being in the middle of this situation. One disadvantage of this is that you would miss out in a lot of things that happened such as world disasters and important world events. An advantage would be that if there was a natural disaster than you wouldn't have to be aware of what happened and feel what happened. Another disadvantage is that you would be extremely hungry and wouldn't be able to eat things for days or months because your stomach has been not very active while you have been sleeping. Another advantage is that you got all the rest that you could possibly want in a life time. You wouldn't need to sleep for the rest of your life and enjoy the world day and night. These are my opinions of what would happen if I woke up after sleeping for fifty years.

  2. If I awoke one day to find that I had slept for 50 years, it would not be pleasant. I would be excited to see how the people of the future live their lives. However everyone I know would either be dead or in their 50s and 60s so that would be a drag. 50 years from now technology will be far past what it is know, and we would probably be able to do things that are impossible now. On the other hand you would have no money, no house, almost no family, no friends, and no way to support yourself. So in conclusion being sent fifty years in the future is a blessing and a curse.

  3. There are many advantages and disadvantages to falling asleep and waking up 50 years later. One advantage is the fact that you could see how the world changed over time. You would be able to see the new inventions and laws that were put into place while you were sleeping away in your bed. Another advantage is you may remember everything that happened before you slept with good memory. You may even remember things that you couldn't quite remember before. A final advantage is any illness or injury you had before you fell asleep will have healed. Most injuries or illnesses will not last 50 years and your body heals best while it is asleep. One disadvantage is that most of your friends and family would have died. You will never again see any of your family members or your best friend. Another disadvantage is that you have lost 50 years of your life. This means that all the things you could have done, you will never be able to do. You are too old now. What if you had something very important the next day and you didn't show up. It will make you look bad forever. The final disadvantage is you will never see the world slowly change over time. You will only see the final outcome. What if the world ended and you slept through it. That would be very embarrassing. Therefore, there are many advantages and disadvantages to sleeping for 50 years.

  4. If I woke up one day and found out that I had been asleep for fifty years, I would be very curious. The first thing I would do is go outside to see if the world looked any different. I would want to know many things. For example, I would see who the president is and see what was happening all over the world. I would also be confused. I would want to know if I had aged fifty years because then that means that I missed a lot of important things. I would try to find out why I was asleep for so long. I would also be worried that people I knew weren't in my life anymore because they weren't sure what happened to me. There are advantages and disadvantages to being asleep for fifty years. One advantage is I could do things that I couldn't do before, such as driving. Another advantage is I wouldn't be tired. Normally during the day, at some point I say I'm tired. If I was asleep for fifty years then I wouldn't have to worry about being so tired because I got a lot of sleep all at once. However, there are several bad thing that make sleeping for fifty years a bad thing. One disadvantage is I would have missed so many things in my life. For example, I would have slept right through high school and college. This means I won't have a good education, therefore I won't get a good job. Plus, if I was asleep for fifty years I wouldn't be able to experience things in life. I wouldn't have gone anywhere I wanted to go or see anything I wanted to see. Therefore, this is a very strange situation and I wouldn't want to sleep for fifty years.

  5. There are advantages and disadvantages if I found out that I woke up one day and found out that I have slept for 50 years. Some advantages is I get to see what the future will look like. In addition, I did not have to work for the 50 I have slept. Furthermore, I won't have to deal with issues such as drama, or fights. Some disadvantages are missing out on important events. For instance, I might have missed my brother graduating or getting married. Another reason is I can't remember all the milestones in my life such as graduating high school and college or buying my house. Therefore there are advantages and disadvantages when you wake up one day to find that I had slept for 50 years.

  7. If I woke up one day to find that I had slept for fifty years I would probably go to find my family first to see if they were ok and to ask them what happened to me and what has happened to the world and the society since I had been asleep. I would also look to see if there had been any new technology advancements.

  9. There are about a million and one things i’d do if i discovered that i had just awoken from a fifty year nap. First off, i would start my in this unfamiliar time period with some time to catch up on what happened. This would probably be the most difficult process to the whole experience because you would have to learn and discover a whole new past and learn about all the things you are familiar with vanish and be replaced with a whole new group of events and ideas, you’d basically turn into your grandparents over-night. Sounds upsetting to me. Living with that reality seems like a whole lot to get used to alone. Secondly i’d have to turn in my homework cause it seems as though that i’d be a little over the due date there. Lastly, i’d go meet some new people cause my friends would be a lot older then me and then it would just be weird.

  10. I think waking up and finding out you have been asleep for 50 years would be a disaster. Your family members and friends would be old, maybe dead. Your whole life would be wasted away. There could only be one advantage to wake up from a 50 year sleep. That is if it was possible to not have aged.

  11. If I woke up one day to find out that I had slept for fifty years, I would've probably freaked out. Waking up fifty years in the future may not be as bad as you think because you would get to see all the new technology that has been made fifty years into the future without actually waiting fifty years because you were asleep. Another advantage of sleeping for fifty years is that since you had fifty years of sleep, you wouldn't be as tired as you would normally be if you had your regular amount of sleep. A disadvantage of being asleep for fifty years is that you would be fifty years older, and you wasted fifty years of your life sleeping. Those are some advantages and disadvantages of a situation where you would wake up one day and found out you were sleeping for fifty years.

  12. If I awoke one day and found out that I had slept for fifty years, I would be devastated. There are so many disadvantages, it's hard to list all of them. But if this actually happened, I would get up right away and start living so I don't miss anymore of life than I already did. Many disadvantages are as followed. I would have lost fifty years of my life! Think of all the fun times I would miss. I would miss seeing my family and friends grow and have fun, and I would have missed major milestones in my life as well. Certain situations would arise and you wouldn't know how to handle them because you pretty much would have forgotten a lot of things you learned at school. I can imagine it would be pretty hard to wake up after a fifty year slumber and try remembering things I learned in school! Technology would also change and evolve and I wouldn't know what everything is because I've been sleeping the entire time. I would also think I would be extremely hungry. I'm hungry when I wake up in the morning and I have to eat breakfast pretty soon. So if I woke up after fifty years of sleeping, I could probably eat ten horses. Although I would never ever want this to happen to me, at least I will never be tired again so I could make up for some lost time and live during the night as well. But that wouldn't make up for fifty years, but it's a start. And lastly, I wouldn't have to go through devastating times that would have happened in my life if I wasn't sleeping. Let's just say I would never want to fall asleep and wake up fifty years later.

  13. If I awoke one morning to find that I had slept for fifty years, my first thought would simply be one word:

    What?

Well, some disadvantages would be that you wouldn't know what was going on in society at the time, and you also wouldn't know how to behave. For example, nowadays, it is proper to put the fork on the left side of the dinner plate, but fifty years from now, that could be the most offensive thing ever, to put the fork on the left side.

Some advantages, however, would be that you'd be able to see what the world had done to advance their ways, such as cars that produce no pollution whatsoever, or some sort of rocket or spacecraft that could take humans anywhere in the universe. (Though there's a good chance this won't happen for a long time). The possibilities are ENDLESS.

  14. If I woke up after a fifty year sleep I would be very confused. I believe the disadvantages of this situation surpass the advantages. But, one advantage includes being able to avoid all of the things you dislike for fifty years; this could also be a disadvantage because you will not know how to deal with these things when you run into them. Some disadvantages are that you will not be up to date on all of the technology or world events. For example, if you fell asleep today believing that the iphone 5s was the newest thing out there in the world, and you woke up a half of a century later, your phone would be seriously outdated and you probably wouldn't know how to use the new ones. Also, the fashion would be completely different, so you would stand out.

  15. If I woke up to find that I have slept for fifty years I would first, want to find out what happened to me and second, I would want to find out what I missed. Advantages to being asleep for fifty years would probably include: missing a tragic disaster that was soon fixed, you could have missed a war that happened, you could have missed the world almost ending. Disadvantages to sleeping that whole time could include: missing a major discovery like the cure of cancer, you would become really old, you might miss your chance at love, if you’re older when you fall asleep then you might miss your kids and possibly grandkids grow up, you could also miss the invention of something really cool but you would be too old to use it, you also might not be able to be there for people who really need you, you might miss major milestones in your life like prom, last but not least you might not be able to say your last goodbye’s to people you love. There are definitely advantages and disadvantages to sleeping for a long time. It seems like there would be more disadvantages so it would be unfortunate to be in that situation.

  16. If I awoke one day to find that I had slept fifty years the advantages would be that it can increase your intelligence which would help me learn better and become smarter. Another reason this would benefit is because less sleep means you have less attention because you would be very tired since you didn't get enough sleep so that would have a major impact in school. The disadvantages of sleeping for fifty years is that it can make you more lazy because of the amount of sleep; it would make you more tired and make you want to relax more - this could be a drawback for getting things done on time and not procrastinating since you would become more lazy because of the amount of sleep. Sleeping for too long can also lead to the cause of obesity and being out of shape and fifty years would have a big impact.

  17. If I awoke one day to find that I had slept for fifty years I think that I would be really upset because it would mean I lost fifty years that I could've lived instead of slept. The disadvantages of this would be that I would be missing important and happy times in my life like graduating from high school or enjoying my childhood before I became an adult. Also when I woke up I probably wouldn't know anyone so I wouldn't know what to do or where to go. Some advantages to this would be that I wouldn't have to work or worry about money or things like that. Along with that if I were stuck in a difficult time in my life then I would be able to sleep past it and not have to stress and worry about it.

  18. If I had woken up one day after 50 years of sleeping there would be many disadvantages along with advantages. Some disadvantages are you would basically miss your entire life. For example if I fell asleep today at 13 years old and woke up 50 years later, I would be 63 years old. I would have missed getting married ad having kids and eventually possibly having grandkids. I would have no education, missing high school and college, along with getting a job. Also if you were into technology, over a 50 year period of time technology changes dramatically. For example in the mid- 1900's phones and tv's were not even around. Now they are basically a necessity is almost everyones life. There are also some advantages of waking up after 50 years of sleeping. One could be that say you have a time of need or devastation in your nation, state or even the world, you would sleep through all of that. You would not go through all issues others are facing. For example, if there was poverty or this strange sleeping thing happened to you during the Great Depression, you would not be awake to see and go through any of it. In conclusion, there are many disadvantage and advantages of sleeping for 50 years and finally waking up.

  19. If I woke up one day to find that I had actually slept fifty years, I think I would definitely be scared. I guess t would depend on the conditions. If all of my friends and family were there with me, I would definitely make the most of it and have fun. But if I was there alone, I think I would just keep sleeping. I would do this because maybe that would be a way back to normal time. There would be some advantages and disadvantages the situation. Some good things would be that we can find out things of the future and bring the idea back with us to help it. Also, we can prevent bad things that might happen in the future. Some disadvantages to this situation would be a way back to regular time. We might have trouble finding a way back to the present time. Also, we can find out things we don't actually want to know, like our futures. In conclusion, there are both good and bad things to waking up in the future, and sleeping for fifty years would make me very tired.

  20. If one day, I woke up and found that I had been asleep for fifty years, the first feeling that would run through my mind would be shock. I would wonder how such a thing could have happened, but I would also think of the advantages and disadvantages of being asleep for so long. There are not many advantages that come from such a strange situation. Sure, I may have lived for fifty years without having to worry about doing any work during that time, and waking up after being asleep for so many years would be somewhat of a miracle, but those two things are the only advantages I could see coming from such a situation. In contrast, there are many disadvantages that would come from being asleep for fifty years. First of all, I would have completely missed fifty years of my life. During those fifty years, I wouldn’t have been able to do any of the activities I would have liked to do during that time, nor would I have been able to make any memories. Having a fifty year span of my life without any memories would just be unimaginable. Finally, being asleep for so long wouldn’t be good for my health. Even if I had been given the necessary nutrients my body needs to survive, I still wouldn’t have actually moved my body for fifty years. This means that I would have to go through a ton of physical therapy until I would even be able to walk again, and at an age of over fifty, that would take a very long time. If I awoke one day to find that I had slept for fifty years, I would be devastated because my whole life would have pretty much consisted of sleeping and learning how to do simple tasks such as walking again. Being asleep for fifty years would not make for a very fun and enjoyable life.

  21. If I were to awake one day to find that I had slept for fifty years, the first thing I would do is explore my surroundings. Some advantages of this strange situation would be that there are probably many major technological advances. As we see in present day, new advances in technology, and basically every field in the world, are made everyday. Therefore, if you were to wake up fifty years in the future, many advances would be made all around you. However, some disadvantages to this would be that you did not have the time in between to adjust as these advances were being made. Because this highly advanced technology was just thrown at you, you most likely wouldn't know how to use any of them. Also, you would miss a giant chunk of your life if you were to sleep for fifty years. If it were specifically me, I would miss all four years of my high school education, including prom and graduation. I would even miss the appropriate years for me to attend college. Therefore, some advantages to sleeping for fifty years would be there would be many technological advances made around you, however disadvantages would be that you are not adapted to these advancements, and you would miss a majority of your lifetime by sleeping.

  22. If I was asleep for fifty years that would be a nightmare. The first thing I would do is check to see if any of my friends had experienced the same thing. An advantage to this situation is that if you did anything bad in your past, if would all go away because this is 50 years later. A disadvantage would be that since you were sleeping for so long, there has been many new technology produced, so I would be out of the look. I wouldn't want to be asleep for 50 years, because all my family would be gone by then except my brother who would be very old. This would be cool to do if you could go back in time to where you started after the experiment. I don't want to start my life at age 63, that would be a waste of a lifetime!
