Pd. 1- Time Travel Decision

If you woke up in the distant future, would you want to remain there or return to your own time? Why?

  1. If I woke up in the distant future, I would return to my own time. I would return to my own time because I wouldn't know anyone and I wouldn't be up to date. I would wake up alone so I wouldn't know anyone in the time frame I entered and it would be lonely. Sure, I could make friends, but it would be extremely difficult considering that in our time period making friends is hard so it would be virtually impossible to make friends at my age in the future. I wouldn't be up to date because I wouldn't know anything that had occurred during the time I slept. It would be incredibly frustrating and I would must likely want to leave. Because of Latin, a language which was commonly used a few decades ago, I can presume that people would also not speak English and therefore I would have no way to communicate with the world I was trapped in. Therefore, I would want to return to my own time if I woke up up in the distant future.

  2. If I woke up in the distant future, I would want to return to my own time. I would return because if you stayed in the future you wouldn't have your family and friends, you wouldn't understand your new surroundings, and the world would be completely different. Living without friends or family would prove extremely difficult with time. It would be like one moment you are surrounded by people, and things that you love and care for and the next minute you're by yourself and no hope for you to see them ever again.

  3. If I were to wake up in the distant furture, I believe that I would return to my own time. I would not want to miss out on all the history that could of happened while I was asleep. If I were to stay in the furture I would just have to learn about what happened instead of witnessing it for myself. Although it would not be good if I got killed witnessing the history.

  4. I would remain there because it would be cool to see the different things in the future. It would be full of diiferent things that are different from our time right now. Technology could have been improved in the future. Also maybe, many diseases now that we don't have a cure of could have a cure in the future. Many questions now in the present could have answers in the future. The future could also explain your mistakes in the present. The wrong things you do now could affect you in the future. So the future would explain the mistakes that you made now in the present. So if I went into the future i would choose to stay in the future.

  5. If i woke up in the distant future i would return to my own time. I would do this because i want to live my own life. Also in the future there could be new things that i dont know about. New laws could affect me or new leadership. Going back to my own time would allow me to grow as a person. it would also allow me to adapt to changes naturally.

  6. If I woke up in the distant future, I would want to return to my own time. The first reason why I would want to return to my own time is because if I were to remain in the distant future, it would be difficult to adjust to that time period. There would be so many advances, and I would have missed so many major events during the period of time that I missed. As a result, many negative things could happen. For instance, If a law where to have been added, I could commit a crime and get in lots of trouble. Secondly, I wouldn't know anyone in that period of time and would most likely be lonely because I wouldn't have any family. And even if I did, I wouldn't know where to find them and they wouldn't know of my existence. Third, assuming that I would be much older when I woke up, I wouldn't like that I missed such a large portion of my life. I wouldn't have made any memories. Lastly, since I woke up so far in the future, I would probably be perceived as someone that is mentally challenged, and confused that someone would probably think there was something wrong with me as I figured out I woke up in the future. Thus, If I woke up in the distant future, I would want to return to my own time.

  7. If I woke up in the distant future, I would want to go back because I would want to live my life. I going to miss many years of what I'm supposed to experience. Also I would find out things that I probably wouldn't like. If I see that then I would try to change it. If I remain there in the future I would look like a standout and everyone would look at me like weird, possibly because that a new lifestyle developed and I'm wearing something "so ____ years ago."

  8. If I woke up in the distant future I would want to return back to my own time. I would do this because I would have missed so much while I was not there. This would make me so upset to miss everything in my childhood, so I would go back so that I would not miss anything. I would also not really know any people when I wake up in the future because they would have changed so much that I would have to get to know the people I knew in the past all over again. There would also be so many memories that I never got to make during that time when I was not awake. Anything that happened in my family or my friends I would not be a part of or not know about so I would want to go back so that i could be a part of all those things. Another thing that would make we want to go back to my time is that I would not be as smart as the people of the new generation because they have grown up around the world and i would have just awaken one day to this completely different society that I know nothing about. I would go back to my time to grow up normally like every other kid did. To me I think your childhood and school years are something you never want to forget so if I wake up in the distant future I would never even have these years Therefore if I woke up in the distant future I would want to return back to my time.

  9. If I woke up in the distant future, I would want to explore the future and see the what new technology that scientist discover. Also, I would look at the pros and cons of how the future compares to the past. If I didn't like the future, I would then try to find a way to return back to my own time. If I did, I would stay in the future. Then I live life.

  10. If I were to wake up in the distant future, I'd want to return to my own time for three reasons. One reason is that I wouldn't want to miss anything. Missing stuff is one of the worst feelings in the world to me. Another reason is that I want to fully live out my life, without skipping forward. You know what they say : You Only Live Once! Finally, if I were to go to the distant future, I would want to know what i missed. In order to find out, I'd have to go back in time. In conclusion, if i woke up in the distant future, I'd want to go back to my own time.

  11. If I were to wake up in the distant future, I would stay there for a little while and see how things go. Then I would go back to present time and lets those things happen. I wouldn't try to change the future. That can cause bad things to happen. You can't mess with fate. Things happen for a reason. Messing with the way life goes can affect many things and change things. Things could get worse than before. But I would still want to see how the future is like so I could at least plan for these events to occur. I wouldn't stay in the future forever, however. It would almost be like skipping ahead, and I want to live in every moment of my life.

  12. If I woke up in the distant future, I would definitely not want to stay there and would want to go back to my own time. Everyone I've ever met, all of my family, and all of my accomplishments are only in my time, and all of those things are the only things that matter in my life. Without my friends, family, and my life up to this point, my life would be completely pointless. I would have to start completely anew in the future without the support of my friends and family. I could not live a life such as this, no matter how far technology has advanced or how much quality of life has improved in the future, it could never amount to the importance of my friends and family.

  13. If I woke up in a distant future, I would like to go back to my own time. I would go back because I would miss all of my friends and wonder what happened along the way. If you think about it, you would be missing things like your graduation, college, etc. Also, If I went directly to the future, how would I be able to make the big decisions in my life? In conclusion, I would go back to my regular time because I wouldn't want to miss out a big chunk of my life.

  14. I would prefer to return to my own time. This is because I feel like I would have missed out on a lot of things in life, such as my friendships, memories, etc. I like being a child because I don't have to worry about things like mortgage, bills, gas, etc. I can do things I like with my friends, and enjoy the freedoms I have as a child. In the future I feel like I would have limited my life experiences and knowledge obtained from age.
