  1. If I awoke one day and I found out that I had slept for 50 years, I would... go use the bathroom. An advantage would be that I would have no wrinkles at the age of 65! One disadvantage would be the fact that all of my friends and family would be too old for me to hang out with and talk to. Some of my family might even be over 100 years old and not living anymore. That would be the worst part.

  2. if i had found out that i had slept for fifty years the first thing i would do is eat some food because i would most likely be hungry. some advantages that would come from it is i would be able to do more things that i could not have done as a thirteen year old teenager. Some disadvantages are i don't get the advantages of being young anymore such as not having to work and being able to sleep in during the summer. some more advantages are i can start a family and live life as an adult and i rule my own life without having to be bossed around by adults. those are some of the advantages and disadvantages of being older

  3. Sleeping for fifty days is not necessarily a bad thing. I would never want to be asleep for that long. I would miss so much time. I feel for it to be a good thing the timing would have to be right. For example, if it were to be through the winter months that would be amazing. I would have no winter at all. I could just enjoy spring and summer again and not worry about freezing outside. I could be a bad thing also because you could sleep through certain events that you either were looking forward to or were important for some reason or another. For example a project for school, a test, or something outside of school, a game for a sport or a competition for something. I would hate to miss any of my baseball games. That is the one thing that I do all year round outside of school and is very important to me. I really would not like to be asleep all year, I think I was just miss too much time.

  4. If I woke up after fifty years some advantages would be that I would not be tired. I would be older and be like 60. But there would be a lot of disadvantages. One disadvantage would be that I would still have the knowledge I did when I fell asleep. I would have missed high school and college. I would not have a place to stay. I would also be out of all that current styles. Also I would have missed a lot of shoes coming out.

  5. I think I would be more disappointed than anything. I think the disadvantages topple over the disadvantages. Teenage years are some of the best of a person's life where many accomplishments will happen. Also I will miss out on a lot of my education that I will need in life. All the people I will have known will forget about me ,and all my friendships will be lost. Also if I were to be asleep for fifty years I may have been figured dead and wake up in a casket. If I were 50 years older I would lose basically all my athletic ability which I would not want. Some advantages though would be a chance to start a new life. You could make new friends and re-write all the wrong things you had done. I don't think there would be a lot of advantages though.

  6. If I awoke to find that I slept for fifty years, I would think that it was good. I think that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. For example some advantages would be: increased technology, better understanding of the world around them, society has advances, civilizations have expanded, and there could be easier, safer, and faster shortcuts of doing things. The disadvantages would be: you would miss all 50 years worth of history, everyone one you knew (most likely) would be dead, you would be all alone when you wake up, you would be 50 years older and you would were not aloud to live these years out, and you will not understand concepts other people understand completely. After taking this all into consideration, you can easily see that it would be an advantage to sleep through 50 years, but you would still have other drawbacks.

  7. Some advantages are that you get to see the future, and how it is like late in your life. You might be able to adapt to the new world. It may even be fun, but there are way more disadvantages. You'd be in terrible phisical shape because of the lack of wtare and food over 50 years. Your friends would either be really old and dead, so you would have to try and socialize with the people that are there. You would miss your entire life. High School, college, early adulthood. You'd be at the age of retirement and just start working. You wouldn't have time to say goodbye to your family. It would be a terrible situation if you slept for 50 years.

  8. If I found out that I slept for 50 years straight, I would be rather surprised, and glad, that not only I lived 50 years, but I also got the sleep I have been needing for ages. However, there would be quite some disadvantages to the situation. First off, not being with my friends for so long, they would have probably forgotten about me. In addition, I would have missed what had been going on while I was asleep, and I would need great time to be caught up on what was going on. But in turn, with every disadvantage, there is an advantage to almost all situations. I would be well rested, and more alert due to the fact that I had gotten so much sleep. Also, I would have so much more to learn and experience because of the many advances in technology and society that I have missed.

  9. If I woke up one day finding that I had slept for fifty years, I would be really scared and puzzled. An advantage to such strange situation would be that maybe in the fifty years that you were sleeping, the world has changed and you might have became really rich or have a great life. Another advantage would be that maybe before you slept u might have had a bad or miserable life, now since its fifty years later, u would have forgotten everything and it would be a completely fresh start for you. A disadvantage to such stranger situation is that you wasted fifty years of precious time. In the fifty years if you sleeping you could have had complete your dreams and doing many many things that you've always wanted to do. Another disadvantage would be a confusion between you and the people that you know or that know you. Since you've been sleeping for so long, everyone could have thought you past away or something and then you suddenly came back to life again.

  10. If this happened to me as a young adult, the first few things that come to my mind are the interjections,"Wow!" and,"How?!". My second instinct would be to question what I've been told just to make sure I'm not being pranked or tricked. I would be very suspicious of the owner of the hotel as well. He either might be up to something, or he might be some sort of magic user. The advantages of having slept this long are: living longer, assuming you didn't age; being able to tell everyone about the past when your generation dies off, also assuming you didn't age as you slept; playing with your grandkids and sister's grandkids. Some disadvantages are: if you're married, your spouse is 50 years older than you; you have to obey your kids because they’re older than you; you missed your kids childhood; you're way behind on everything such as technology, income, and recent history.

  11. Some advantages to waking up after being asleep for 50 years would be new technology, a new president, and maybe I'd be famous. Hopefully, I'd be waking up in my own house (not my parents) with a family. And maybe there'd be new food. But there would also be disadvantages to waking up after 50 years of being asleep. I would most likely be unintelligent, I would not know what's going on and I would not know what had happened in the past 50 years.

  12. If I was a sleep for 50 years, the first thing I would want to know is what year it is. Some disadvantages are you would skip 50 years of your life; you would have not done a single thing for 50 years. You could also die earlier because you would 50 years old already plus the age you fell a sleep at. Some advantages are that you get to lay down. You might not want to sleep again, so you get more hours to do things. Also you do not have any stress.

  13. If I one day awoke to find myself fifty years older, I would first contact my family to interrogate them. The advantage of such a situation can be that I would not have to live through high school and worry about college. I also wouldn't have to endure through homework. The disadvantages of such a situation are countless. First, I would have wasted most of my life sleeping. Second, I would look older. Third, a lot would have changed in fifty years and I would not be up to date with technology. Lastly, my family may have changed. Family members could have died or new ones may have been born and I was not there for it as I was sleeping. I think there are more disadvantages to this situation than advantages.

  14. I would be very surprised that I actually slept that long! I usually don't sleep in that late. Anyway, I would get out in the world and see all of the changes I've missed. I might even read the newspaper to see if I can find out an information there. I could read books and articles, talk to friends and family, and more. An advantage of sleeping for fifty years is that I probably wouldn't be tired for a couple days and I would be all energized. Disadvantages are that I wouldn't have gotten any exercise or fresh air. I would have missed out on A LOT of things. Also, I would have missed on seeing my family and friends. Maybe important something happened and I wasn't there for it. I also might have forgotten a lot of things. Although sleeping for fifty years sounds fun and can keep you energized for a long time, I would never want to sleep for that long.

  15. If I was asleep for over 50 years the first thing that I would do would be to go and find my family. I would try to find out if any of them are still alive and to meet up with them. I love my family very much and it would be hard not to see them over 50 years. The advantages to sleeping over 50 years would be that you would not be tired, you would be alive, and you would be in the future in a sense. Disadvantages would be that you would be far behind in technology, you may not have family left, and you may not recognize anyone.

  16. Some of the advantages of this situation would be that you would be very knowledgable of the past. You would be able to tell stories of how things were, what happend, ect. Also, you would be able to see all of the new technologies of the time. I personally think that there are more disadvantages than advantages. The first disadvantage would be that many of your friends and loved ones could have passed away. Also, many new buildings and places would have been built so you wouldn't know your way around. Also, you would have lost fifty years of your life and after fifty years many of the things you would want to have gotten done you couldn't have because you were sleeping. Finally, with the new technology you wouldn't know how to operate anything. Therefore I think the disadvantages outweigh the advantages in that strange situation.

  17. If I one day awoke one day to find that I had slept for 50 years, I would try to first find someone I knew. I would do this because it can create familiarity in the new world. One advantage of this situation would be that you can meet people you never would have met otherwise. Another positive thing that could be associated with this is having knowledge of the past. There are many disadvantages as well. A negative aspect would be that you probably wouldn't know the people from this time period, because they may not have even been alive before your 50 year sleep. Another disadvantage is that you would not be up to date on the current trends. Many things could have changed in those 50 years, such as new technology being created. There would be advantages and disadvantages in this situation.

  18. If I suddenly woke up one day to find that I had slept for 50 years, honestly I might cry. It would be sad to that I missed my childhood, graduation, having a job and family. I would miss my youth since I would be abut 63. Yet it might be good because I could be able to see what the future is like without really feeling like I waited 50 years.

  19. If I had awoke one day to find that I had slept for fifty years there would be many advantages and disadvantages. Some advantages would be that you might get to see some amazing sights of the future and if you have not aged you will live to see a greater future. Some disadvantages would be that all your loved family members would have died, you would be alone and confused, and if you had aged you would have missed a huge chunk of your life.

  20. If I were to one day wake up and realize I slept for fifty years a lot of things would be different. If I slept for fifty years the advantages to this would be I would be able to see what the world would be like in fifty years. I would be able to say to most of the kids who were recently born, "Back when I was a kid, we had this" It would be great to see what the world changed like in the last fifty years. Another good thing about waking up and realizing you slept for fifty years would be that you can see the advances in technology and in the government. I would be able to see if the government went the right way or the wrong way. If it was right we would be fine and nothing would be happening. If it was going in the wrong direction then there might be a war or a battle going on over an opposing country. Lastly, another disadvantage to sleeping for fifty years is that you would be another fifty years older which means you would have less time to live and spent with family and friends. So as you can see from my perspective there are some major advantages and disadvantages if you were to wake up fifty years in the future.

  21. If I woke up 50 years into the future, I’d Probably be really confused on what was happening so I’d probably go get food and think about it. I’d be sad because everyone around me would age and I’d miss all the things that happened. When I’m sure of what happened I would explore and see if the future is what everyone hoped it would be. I’d go all over town and look at everything. There would be a lot of negatives like: I would miss everything, I’d miss the people who passed away, I wouldn’t have a clue whats going on, and I would be REALLY hungry.

  22. If I had slept for fifty years a lot would've changed. Some of the advantages of being able to go into the future fifty years is that a lot of new technology would've come out. For example in the past ten years alone a phone with a touch screen came out, and you can now see peoples faces on the phone. Another advantage is that fifty years from now there would be great advances in medicine which would allow a lot more diseases to be cured easier. Some disadvantages to being fifty years in the future is that you would be such an outsider since you wouldn't know what clothing to wear, how to talk, and how to act. Another disadvantage is that you wouldn't know anyone. If you just woke up fifty years from now all of your friends and family wouldn't know you and you would basically be alone. Another disadvantage is that you wouldn't be able to find your way around since the landscape, and the cities would've changed.

  23. If we're speaking of somehow magically staying in my current state, as in the Sleeping Beauty style, in which a girl sleeps for years without aging or showing any loss of health, than I see both advantages and disadvantages. I'd get to see the future and any advances the human race had made, but I'd miss out on seeing my friends and family grow up. My natural lifetime would pass me by. However, I could start a new life apart from anyone who knew me previously. In essence, if I wanted to begin anew, I'd have the liberty to do that.
Since I don't believe in magic, I'm going to assume that there was some logical reason I've slept so long, such as a coma, or- who knows, maybe with future science there is some way. In this case, I would have continued aging and would now be aged 63 years old, having missed 50 years of my life. I can see no advantages here; while I would have access to anything new the future holds, I wouldn't have the youth or the opportunities to gain much from it, as my time would be much more limited.
My initial response would be shock, followed quickly by trying to absorb all the new knowledge at my disposal to make up for lost time (in both cases). Overall, I would not want this to happen to me, regardless of the benefits; the drawbacks would be too high.
